COLOMBO (News 1st); Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Engineers Association says that the Sapugaskanda Oil Refinery has not yet been informed about the arrival of crude oil shipments. Therefore, the refinery will have to be closed down from Friday (24) night.
Member of the CPC Engineers Association Channa Prabhath told News 1st this morning that the management had instructed the refinery to continue using the remaining volume of fuel oil for the safety of the refinery tanks.
However, he emphasized that the protected fuel volume would be used only if it was confirmed that a ship would arrive within the next four days.
