Rear Admiral Prasad Kariyapperuma - SE Navy Chief

COLOMBO (News 1st); Rear Admiral Prasad Kariyapperuma takes over command of Southeastern Naval Command.

Rear Admiral Prasad Kariyapperuma assumed office as Commander Southeastern Naval Area at the Command Headquarters today (24th June 2022).

Prior to take over duties of the new appointment, Rear Admiral Kariyapperuma was at the Navy Headquarters, discharging duties as Director of General Administration. The incoming Commander was warmly received to the Southeastern Naval Command in compliance with naval traditions.

Subsequently, Commodore Harsha De Silva who previously held the office as Acting Area Commander relinquished the duties and handed them over to the newly appointed Commander Southeastern Naval Area.
