Small Mills wants Govt to inspect Large Mills

COLOMBO (News 1st); Small & Medium Rice Mills are accusing large-scale rice mill owners of hoarding stocks of rice.

The Chairman of Sri Lanka Small & Medium Rice Mills Association U.K Semasinghe said that businessmen are hiding rice stocks and are not releasing them to the local market.

He pointed out that the businessman portrayed a shortage in the market, and thus increased the price.

He said the government must take necessary action to control the price.
