COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan authorities said there is a sharp decline in passenger arrivals & departures.
Director – Operations (All Airports) of Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka Shehan Sumanasekara says that the number of passenger arrivals to Sri Lanka has been reduced rapidly compared to the COVID-19 period.
He said before the COVID-19 pandemic 28,000 passengers arrived and exited the country, due to the COVID-19 pandemic the number of passengers arriving in the country reduced to a certain extent.
However, Shehan Sumansekera said that with the current situation in the country, the number of departures and arrivals has dropped to 10,000.
Meanwhile, 20,535 tourists have arrived in the country by the 21st of June.
