Indian delegation holds talks with Lankan PM

COLOMBO (News 1st); Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra along with Secretary of Ministry of Finance in India Ajay Seth and CEA V. Anantha Nageswaran called on Prime minister Ranil Wickremesinghe in Colombo on Thursday (23). 

A special discussion was held regarding Sri Lanka’s economic situation & highlighted India’s continuing support and assistance to the people of Sri Lanka.

The Foreign Secretary of India Vinay Kwatra has told President Gotabaya Rajapaksa that India, as a close friend, will will extend its fullest support to Sri Lanka in overcoming the difficult situation.

The Indian Foreign Secretary met with the President in Colombo on Thursday (23).

The Foreign Secretary is accompanied by Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Finance of India, Ajay Seth, Chief Economic Advisor to the Government of India Dr. V. Anantha Nageswaran and Joint Secretary of the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) Kartik Pande of the Ministry of External Affairs of India.

The delegation reviewing the already provided assistance in terms of Fuel, Medicine, Fertilizer and other essentials said the Indian Government is committed to support Sri Lanka.

The President had thanked the Indian Government and the Indian people for the assistance provided to the country.
