Fruit vendor shot dead in Mannin Market

COLOMBO (News 1st); A 42-year-old man was gunned down inside a fruit stall in the Mannin Market in Peliyagoda.

Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa said that the gunman had arrived in a car to carry out the shooting.

The deceased has been identified as a fruit seller from Kotahena, Colombo 13, and he succumbed to injuries upon admission to the Colombo National Hospital.

Police said that two T-56 assault rifle bullet casings were discovered at the crime scene.
