Train passenger numbers up by 20%

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Railways says that the number of people using trains has increased by 20% in the last few days.

The General Manager of Railways, Dhammika Jayasundara stated that plans are underway to add several new trains to the fleet in the future and to increase the capacity of existing trains.

The General Manager also assured that the Railway Department has sufficient stocks of fuel for future operations.
