COLOMBO (News 1st); The revenue of the Department of Motor Traffic has dropped by 40%.
The Commissioner-General of the Department of Motor Traffic Sumith Alahakoon said that this was due to the decline in the registration of new vehicles.
The registration of used vehicles has also drop down due to the increase in bank interest rates.
The Commissioner-General said that by the year 2020, the revenue was Rs. 1 Billion, and 200,000 new vehicles were registered that year.
