COLOMBO (News 1st); The final vessel carrying 40,000 MT of diesel via the Indian Credit Line is scheduled to arrive in Colombo on Thursday (16).

However, the Petroleum Corporation has NOT YET announced a specific date for the arrival of a petrol shipment.

A spokesman for the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) said that it will take another three days to distribute diesel from the vessel that arrives on Thursday (16).

In such a backdrop, Sri Lankans were seen lining up for fuel at almost every filling station in the country.

Some filling stations have been closed for days stating they have run out of fuel stocks.

People in many areas blocked roads and engaged in protests on Wednesday (15) demanding fuel.
