Medicine shortage will end soon; Health Ministry

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Health said it is confident that the shortage of medicines in hospitals across the country will be eliminated within the next six weeks.

Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that the required funds have been received to import medicines.

The Minister further said that there are 14 essential medicines available in sufficient quantities at present.

However, the Minister pointed out that there is a shortage of another 186 types of medicines in the country.

Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said that these medicines will also be imported as soon as possible.
