Special Audit on public loans to be conducted

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Auditor General's Office has commenced a special audit on loans obtained in the country.

Auditor General, Chulantha Wickramaratne stated that this special audit will focus on public loans obtained during the three year period between 2019 and 2021.

The Auditor General noted that he expects to present the special audit report to the Parliament next month.

He further added that more attention would be paid to the methodology of obtaining the relevant loans, with emphasis on the revenue and expenditure situation in the country.
