CID arrests another suspect for murder of former Parliamentarian

COLOMBO (News 1st); Another suspect involved in the murder of former Parliamentarian Amarakeerthi Athukorala has been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department.

The suspect was identified a 24 year old resident of Pasyala.

Thirty-one suspects have been arrested so far in connection with the murder of the former Parliamentarian and his security guard, and 30 arrestees have been remanded as well.

The CID investigation into the murder of the former parliamentarian and his bodyguard during the May 9th violence in Nittambuwa is still underway.
