No longer mandatory to wear face masks - Health Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Minister of Health, Keheliya Rambukwella says that effective immediately, the mask mandate which was imposed for outdoor and indoor spaces in Sri Lanka has been lifted. "It is no longer mandatory wear a face mask for indoor and outdoor spaces," he tweeted. According to a collective decision taken by the Ministry of Health and the medical colleges of Sri Lanka, only those suffering from respiratory conditions will be encouraged to wear a mask, the Minister said. Moreover, the performing of a COVID-19 PCR test and the Rapid Antigen (RAT) tests will no longer be conducted as screening tests.
