Basil Rajapaksa quits Parliament; Moves out of SLPP National List

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Finance Minister and the Founder of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna Basil Rajapaksa has submitted his letter of resignation to step down from Parliament. In addition, he had also stepped out of the National List of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna to pave the way for a more suitable person to enter parliament.
"Today, I speak to you as a normal citizen,' he told reporters in Colombo.
