Strong winds & thundershowers likely today (7)

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology announced that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Kandy, Nuwara-Eliya, Galle, and Matara districts.

Fairly heavy showers above 50 mm may occur at some places in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and Galle and Matara districts.

Several spells of showers will occur in the North-Western province.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Uva province and Ampara and Batticaloa districts during the evening or night.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
