We should not rely on debt to build up reserves: CBSL Governor

COLOMBO (News 1st); Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe says that the international reserves of the country can be increased through borrowings or the generation of export earnings.

In a tweet from the Central Bank, the Governor points out that there are many skilled Sri Lankan entrepreneurs with international links who are capable of seizing opportunities to adapt to the business environment around them, and to lead the development of exports.

Dr. Weerasinghe further stated that we need to ensure that we do not rely on debt to build up our international reserves.
