COLOMBO (News 1st); The State Pharmaceuticals Corporation of Sri Lanka had paid Rs. 645 Million to a private company for a software for the management of medical supplies, however it had not been properly updated and used.
The Committee on Public Enterprises on Tuesday (31) had observed that a company had been given Rs. 645 million to set up the system and Rs. 5 million a month for its maintenance, but the system was not functioning properly.
Officials representing the State Pharmaceuticals Corporation of Sri Lanka appearing at COPE said due to this, work has already commenced to prepare a new computer system at a lower cost and about 80% of the work has already been completed.
