COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Freedom Party has decided that all SLFP MPs who accepted ministerial positions in government will be stripped of their positions in the party.

A letter by SLFP Chairman & Former President Maithripala Sirisena noted that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Central Committee ONLY decided to support the positive action taken by the government whilst remaining in the opposition.

The letter noted that the Central Committee unanimously decided that if a Member of Parliament representing the SLFP accepts a position in government, he should be stripped of all positions in the Sri Lanka Freedom Party.
