China to donate medical supplies worth millions of dollars

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Chinese Government has offered to donate $28 Million worth of medicines and essential surgical equipment to Sri Lanka.

Secretary to the Ministry of Health Janaka Chandragupta stated that a stock of medicines and surgical equipment worth $28 Million will be donated by China on two separate occasions.

The Secretary to the Ministry of Health stated that Jordan as well as an organization in Malaysia has offered to supply medicines to Sri Lanka.

The Ministry of Health stated that the Buddhist foundation in Switzerland has also come forward to provide the medicines that are in short supply in the country.

The Bangladesh High Commission to Sri Lanka handed over $2.2 Million worth of essential medicines donated by the Government of Bangladesh on Tuesday (31).
