Siblings murdered following a family dispute

COLOMBO (News 1st); A brother and sister were stabbed to death in Mullegama, Nawagattegama on Monday (30) night.

Sri Lanka Police said the deceased was aged 32 and 25 years old, a brother and sister.

According to Police, the deceased man had attempted to solve a dispute between his sister and her husband, and during the altercation, the husband had stabbed his brother-in-law, and thereafter his wife,

Police said that the 27-year-old suspect involved in the murder has been arrested and is currently receiving treatment at the Puttalam Hospital under police protection.

In addition, a 48-year-old woman was found murdered inside the Dematagoda Railway Station restaurant.

Sri Lanka Police said the woman who was operating the eatery was thus murdered.
