16-year-old school girl's body found inside a well

COLOMBO (News 1st); The body of a 16-year-old girl from Ganeshpuram,Vavuniya was discovered in a well close to her house on Monday (30).

Sri Lanka Police said that the deceased had not returned home after attending a tuition class, and thereafter relatives had alerted the authorities.

The Nelumkola Police conducted an investigation and discovered the body inside the well, and located her books under a tree close by.

A Police K-9 Unit was called for the investigations, and it had stopped at an abandoned shop in the area.

Police suspect the deceased may have been killed at this location, however, investigations are underway.
