Nine-year-old girl missing: Search Op underway

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police launched an island-wide investigation to locate a nine-year-old girl who was reported missing since 10 AM on Friday (27) from Bandaragama.

The girl is a resident from Atalugama, and Police said she is a Grade 4 student from a local school.

Investigations have revealed that she had visited a shop nearby at 10 AM to buy food and never returned.

Relatives and neighbors have searched the area as she did not return home, and thereafter immediately informed the police.

Sri Lanka Police said CCTV footage from the area was obtained to conduct investigations adding that the search is on to locate the missing girl.
