Green light for Private Bunkers to import Diesel

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Ministry of Power and Energy has given approval to all the private bunker fuel companies operating in Sri Lanka to import and provide the necessary diesel and fuel oil requirements of industries to function their generator requirements and machinery.

"This will ease the burden on CPC and the burden on fuel stations," tweeted Energy Minister Kanchana Wijesekera.

The Ministry of Energy said that this measure would assist the companies in reducing their visits to filling stations to obtain fuel for various forms of moveable storage devices.
