Over 1,800 arrested for recent violence

COLOMBO (News 1st); 70 people were arrested yesterday (25) in connection with the riots that took place in various parts of the island.
Police Media Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa stated that 41 of the suspects were released on Police bail and Court bail yesterday (25), while 47 of them have been remanded.
The Police Media Spokesperson also stated that 854 complaints have been received so far regarding these incidents, and the total number arrested is 1,878.
831 suspects have been remanded in connection with these incidents.
