COLOMBO (News 1st); A vessel carrying medical supplies from France will reach Sri Lanka on Thursday (26), and Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella stated that this includes $2.5 Million worth of surgical equipment.
The Minister of Health stated at a meeting held at the Prime Minister’s Office on Wednesday (25) that due to the stock of medicines and anesthetics to be provided by France, it will be possible to maintain all emergency operating theaters in the country continuously for 90 days.
The French government earlier donated a stock of medicine worth 300,000 Euros (around Rs 115 Million) following the request of the Sri Lankan government.
Meanwhile, an Indian vessel carrying another consignment of medicines worth USD 5 Million is scheduled to arrive by Friday (27), the Minister said.
