Energy Minister seeks approval for renewable energy projects

COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera has instructed the Renewable Energy Authority to provide approval to obtain the required amount of fuel to the Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) on a monthly basis and to approve the renewable energy projects currently being submitted.

Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said that he instructed officials to grant provisional approvals immediately for renewable energy projects which have been in the pipeline.

Following meeting between the Ceylon Electricity Board and the Sri Lanka Sustainable Energy Authority the minister tweeted that uninterrupted power supply with adequate fuel supply and to encourage Investments in the renewable power sector were discussed.
