COLOMBO (News 1st); The Samagi Jana Balawegaya was made by us, and we worked the most for the party, says Harin Fernando, who was appointed Minister of Tourism and Lands today (20).

Addressing a media briefing in Colombo, the Minister said that he welcomes the disciplinary inquiry directed at him, and he is happy to accept the result of the inquiry, however reminds that he has not left the party as of yet.

Pointing out that this is a non-partisan Government, the MP said that he and MP Manusha have become independent.

Further speaking with regard to the challenges undergone by the people, especially with regard to queues for essential items, electricity outages and children who are struggling with examinations, the MP said that now is not the time to be politically divided.

"We have arrived at a hard default, this is not the time to be thinking of politics, but the time to think about the country," he said.

However, he further stated that while what they have embarked on would result in getting scorned by the people, their opinion with regard to President Gotabaya Rajapaksa resigning remains unchanged.
