COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs stated that several problems have arisen in the implementation of the proposal made by the Commissioner-General of Essential Services to call on public servants only for essential services.
The Ministry said that those who work from home will have to be paid their salaries in full, similar to their colleagues who report to work for the essential services.
The Ministry stated that there are suggestions that due to this some injustice is being done to the employees who are called to work.
Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration and Home Affairs J.J Ratnasiri said that if this decision is implemented, there are proposals to deduct a certain percentage from the salaries of domestic workers.
He stated that he had informed the essential Commissioner-General K.D.S Ruwanchandra regarding the matter.
