COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation has appealed to the general public to refrain from waiting in line for fuel on Wednesday (18).

Yet, thousands were in line outside filling stations across the country awaiting fuel distribution, and in some cases people have been waiting in line with their vehicles for days.

The Chairman of the CPC said that petrol distribution will be restricted on Wednesday (18). However, petrol will be provided as usual from tomorrow (19).

In the meantime, necessary payments will be made for the vessel carrying crude oil, that has reached Sri Lankan waters.

The Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) Sumith Wijesinghe said that steps will be taken to expedite the payment for furnace and fuel shipments that have also reached Sri Lankan shores.
