COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said that 756 complaints were received with regard to the violence that took place on the 9th of May 2022, and the days that followed.
In a statement Sri Lanka Police said that 159 people were arrested on Sunday (15) in connection to the violence, and 22 of them were remanded.
The statement added that currently 159 people are in remand custody in relation to the May 9th violence.
Police Spokesperson SSP Nihal Thalduwa in a statement said several CID teams are working to arrest suspects connected to the incidents, while the images of 76 people were released to the media.
He appealed for public assistance to arrest these suspects who are wanted by Sri Lanka Police.
