SJB protests the appointment of Ranil Wickremesinghe as Prime Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Samagi Jana Balavegaya has decided to protest the appointment of Ranil Wickremesinghe as the nation's new Prime Minister, said Senior Deputy Chairman of the SJB Dr. Rajitha Senaratne on Friday (13).

"The people have already rejected Gotabaya Rajapaksa. That is why we have the slogan GotaGoHome. Secondly, we have the slogan RajapaksaGoHome. Therefore, engaging with the Rajapaksa's not a people-friendly process," said Rajitha Senaratne.

He said in addition to the GotaGoGama township, a new township RanilGoGama replaced the MynaGoGama township opposite Temple Trees.

The Samagi Jana Balavegaya led by Sajith Premadasa was formed because many could not work with Ranil Wickremesinghe, said SJBs Rajitha Senaratne on Friday (13).

"The people said our decision was correct. Ranil Wickremesinghe who obtained around 500,000 votes in 2015, could not even secure 20,000 votes later," he said adding that Ranil Wickremesinghe went back on his policy of NOT awarding National List positions to those who lost the elections.

"Ranil who lost the elections sneaked into the Parliament via the National List," he said.

"The President is trying to tell us about Ranil Wickremesinghe. Ranil Wickremesinghe may be a good person for his now, but we engaged in politics with Ranil Wickremesinghe for almost two decades," he said.
