COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lanka Coast Guard said that the Life Savers attached to Coast Guard Life Saving Post, Mirissa rescued five foreigners, during three successful rescue attempts on 07th May.

According to the Sri Lanka Coast Guard, a 29 years old lady and two males (30 & 31 years old) from Russia, and two ladies (28 & 55 years old) from Egypt were rescued whilst drowning and being dragged away by currents near Mirissa beach.

The swift responses by skilled lifesavers of the Sri Lanka Coast Guard managed to bring back hope for drowning foreigners despite the heavy current that prevailed in the area.
