COLOMBO (News 1st); The Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party, former President Maithripala Sirisena has sent a letter inviting the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa and the Leader of the National People's Power Anura Kumara Dissanayake to join in establishing an all-party interim Government.

A discussion between the Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa and the party leaders of the Independent Parliamentary Group including former President Maithripala Sirisena is scheduled to be held today (8).

The Vice President of the Communist Party of Sri Lanka Weerasumana Weerasinghe stated that discussions with regard to this are underway with the intention of obtaining the support of the Samagi Jana Balawegaya to form an interim Government.

However, he said that his group had decided at a meeting of the Independent Parliamentarians' Group yesterday (7) to take up the responsibility of forming an interim Government with the involvement of several other parties without allowing the country to fall into anarchy if the Samagi Jana Balawegaya withdraws from its responsibility of taking over the Government.
