BASL-SJB discussions conclude; BASL to obtain President's stance

COLOMBO (News 1st); The discussions between the Bar Association of Sri Lanka and the Samagi Jana Balawegaya this morning have concluded. 

Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa, Chief Opposition Whip Lakshman Kiriella, SJB members Thalatha Athukorala, Ajith P. Perera, Rauf Hakeem, Ravi Jayawardena and others participated in the event.

The Samagi Jana Balawegaya has decided to support a national program based on a series of proposals submitted by the Bar Association of Sri Lanka to resolve the crisis in the country, alongside proposals presented by the SJB as well.

Leader of the Opposition Sajith Premadasa, speaking after the discussion emphasized that the Executive Presidency must be abolished for the country to move forward.
