COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s State Trading Corporation said that 1,000 MT of rice was imported to Sri Lanka via the Indian credit line over the past few days.
Chairman of the Sri Lanka State Trading Corporation Yoga Perera speaking to News 1st said approximately 80,000 MT of rice was imported via the Indian Credit Line to be sold a concessionary prices.
The import rice will be sold via Lanka Sathosa & super markets across the country.
Yoga Perera said 1 kg of Ponni Samba will be sold for Rs. 175/-, 1 kg of Nady and While Kekulu Rice will be sold for Rs. 145/-.
300,000 MT of rice is to be imported in total via the Indian credit line.
