Strong wind and rain likely at night

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology announced that showers or thundershowers will occur at times in Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in Galle and Matara districts.

Fairly heavy showers above 50mm may occur at some places in Sabaragamuwa province and Kaluthara, Galle, and Matara districts.

Showers or thundershowers may occur at several places in Central, Uva, and Eastern provinces and Hambantota district during the evening or night.

Several spells of showers may occur in the coastal areas of the Puttalam district.

The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
