COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners' Association informed that the distribution of fuel has already begun.

The joint secretary to the Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners' Association, Shantha Silva said it would take another two days for the congestion at filling stations to end.

The Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners' Association has decided to withdraw from operating on the 30th of this month against the non-increase in transport charges compared to the increase in fuel prices.

However, a discussion was held with the CPC administration on Monday (2) afternoon and the Ceylon Petroleum Private Tanker Owners' Association decided to suspend the strike.

He said the administration had agreed to increase the rent by 30%.

During the strike, congestion was reported near filling stations.

Some filling stations were closed, saying there was NO fuel.
