India assures continued support to Sri Lanka; High Commissioner meets Finance Minister

COLOMBO (News 1st); High Commissioner to the Republic of India in Sri Lanka Gopal Baglay met with Finance Minister M.U.M Ali Sabry, PC at the Ministry of Finance on Monday (2).

A discussion was held on the current areas of cooperation between the two Countries and also the way forward in managing the current economic issues.

High Commissioner Baglay reassured Minister Ali Sabry of India’s continued support to Sri Lanka in resolving the current economic issues currently faced by Sri Lanka.

Minister Ali Sabry thanked High Commissioner Baglay for the support extended by the Government of India over the past few weeks and months and for the commitment to continue extending its support.

Minister Ali Sabry also spoke with High Commissioner Baglay on the areas discussed with the Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman at their recent meeting at the IMF Headquarters in Washington D.C, USA.
