Gazette on Fully Vaccinated regulation canceled

COLOMBO (News 1st); The government gazette that prevented people from accessing any public place without having the proof of being fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID – 19), has been canceled.

Minister of Health (Professor) Channa Jayasumana said that the gazette notification regarding mandatory full vaccination to enter public places was canceled from Sunday (1st May).

Sri Lanka’s Former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella issued an Extraordinary Gazette preventing unvaccinated people from entering or being in public places on 25th January 2022.

The Gazette noted that “A person shall not enter any public place without having the proof of being fully vaccinated against the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID – 19) unless exempted by the Proper Authority in respect of the whole of Sri Lanka.”
