Economic Centers closed in support of nation wide Trade Union action; Vegetables left unattended

COLOMBO (News 1st); All leading economic centers in Sri Lanka were on Thursday (28) in support of the nation wide trade union action.

The Manning's Market Traders Association informed traders and customers on Wednesday (28) that the Manning Market will not operate today.

Traders at the Manning Market also protested at the premises.

The Keppetipola Special Economic Center did no see any transaction take place, as traders had decided to support the on-going trade union action.

The Menikkumbura Economic Center in Katugastota was deserted and vegetable stocks that were not sold, were left at the premises, and no transaction took place with regard to new vegetable stocks.

The Thambuttegama Dedicated Economic Center was closed down as both traders and farmers had decided to support the nation wide strike.

At the Dambulla Dedicated Economic Centre traders and the local population supported by public servants and professionals decided to protest on one lane of the Jaffna - Kandy main road.
