COLOMBO (News 1st); Two murders were reported from Battaramulla, and Kelaniya within the past 24 hours.
A 75-year-old man was stabbed to death in the Battaramulla area on Tuesday (26) night, and according to the police, he was attacked with a sharp weapon following a heated exchange with a homeless man when exiting a super market.
The suspect has fled the area, and investigations are underway.
At the same time, a 63-year-old man was killed and his son was injured when a group of persons entered a house in the Waragoda area in Kelaniya and attacked them with sticks and poles.
Police stated that the group of criminals have entered the premises, beaten the father and son, and robbed their jewelry, as well as land deeds.
The injured 63-year-old man died after being admitted to the Kiribathgoda Hospital.
