Human Rights Commission closely monitoring protests

COLOMBO (News 1st); A delegation from the Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka (HRCSL) has been assigned to look into any human rights violations which may take place during the protest organized by the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF).

Its Commissioner, Dr. Nimal Karunasiri stated that the relevant delegation was constantly monitoring the situation.

If human rights are violated during the protest, actions will be taken against such, he added.
