COLOMBO (News 1st); The Leader of the Opposition, Sajith Premadasa says that he will retire from politics if he is forced to make deals and accept positions without a proper referendum.
Speaking during a Samagi Jana Balawegaya protest held in Ambilipitiya today (23), the Opposition Leader emphasized that his party is ready to take responsibility for the country and offer solutions for the burning issues of the people.
However, the SJB would never go forth for coalitions or agreements with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, and will never form a Government with any Rajapaksa member, especially not without a referendum.
“We are not ready to make deals to appease anyone. I would rather go home,” he stated.
If he is forced to make deals, the Opposition Leader said that he would simply retire after revealing all those who are involved in such deals.
“We are not ready for deals between the President, the Prime Minister or with other Ministers,” Premadasa added.
