Extra one hour at school; decision suspended

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan authorities have decided to suspend the decision to add an extra one hour to the school time table.

The Education Ministry had decided to extend the school hours by one hour to complete the syllabus.

The decision was taken due to insufficient time to complete the syllabuses for this year as part of the first term was used to complete the syllabus from the last year.

However, this decision has now been suspended.

Government and Government approved private schools are due to open tomorrow (18) for the new school term.
