Shantha Bandara takes oath as State Minister; SLFP calls it a betrayal of policies

COLOMBO (News 1st); Senior Vice Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) Dr. Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa says by taking oaths as a State Minister SLFP MP Shantha Bandara has betrayed the policies of the party.

Shantha Bandara was sworn in as the State Minister of Promoting the Production & Regulating the Supply of Organic Fertilizer and Advanced Technology Agriculture on Monday (11).

This was after Shasheendra Rajapaksa resigned from his State Ministerial portfolio.

The President's Media Division says the President refused to accept the resignation of Priyankara Jayaratne.

Accordingly, he will continue to function as the State Minister of Foreign Employment Promotion and Market Diversification.

A senior official of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) said that based on sources, a new Cabinet of Ministers is set to be sworn in today.
