11,000MT rice reaches Sri Lanka from India ahead of New Year celebrations

COLOMBO (News 1st); The High Commission of India in Sri Lanka states that 11,000 metric tons of rice from India reached Colombo on board ship 'Chen Glory' today (12).

The stock of rice had arrived ahead of New Year celebration by Sri Lankans.

This 16,000 metric tons of rice is supplied under India's multi-pronged support to Sri Lanka in the past week alone.

These supplies which mark the special bond between India and Sri Lanka will continue, the Indian High Commission added.
