Engaging in violence will lead to arrests - Police

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police said that it would arrest people who behave in an unruly manner and are engaged in violence.

Sri Lanka Police said that incidents of setting fires, unlawful entry, and misconduct are being reported while protests and demonstrations are taking place in various parts of the country.

It noted that the people responsible for such incidents have been arrested, and further investigations are taking place on video evidence.

Sri Lanka Police said that though people have the right to peacefully demonstrate, they cannot behave in an unruly manner, and cannot engage in acts of violence.
