COLOMBO (News 1st); The Meteorological Department announced that showers or thundershowers accompanied by severe lightning is likely to occur at several places in the country during the night in Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, North Central, and North-western provinces and Vavuniya, Mannar, Badulla, and Galle districts.

Further, the Department of Meteorology noted that heavy showers above 100mm can be expected at several places in these areas.
