COLOMBO (News 1st); Defense Secretary and General Kamal Gunaratne has strongly denied reports which claim that Indian troops have entered Sri Lanka.

He said that the false news item contained official photographs released during last year’s friendly Indo-Sri Lanka joint military exercise.

He stressed that the public should not be alarmed by such misinformation which is made for various purposes.

Defense Secretary Kamal Gunaratne also emphasized that the Sri Lanka Armed Forces have the capability to face any situation while ensuring national security.
