COLOMBO (News 1st); The vegetable traders at the Manning Market say that the transportation of vegetables has been disrupted due to the prevailing shortage of Diesel.
Chairman of the Peliyagoda Manning Market Association, S. M. Upasena stated that there is a reduction in the rate of customers as well given the fuel and power crises.
He said for the first time in history, the early morning operations at the Manning Market were disrupted today (31), owing to the power cuts from 3:00 AM to 7:00 AM.
Upasena emphasized that despite continuous assurances from the authorities that essential services will not be affected due to power cuts, the distribution process of vegetables was disrupted today owing to power cuts.
